NYFW has begun. So far I’m not elated with the inventory (with the exception of P. Som of course). 2012 has proven to be a strong year for fashion and the Spring/Summer 2013 shows need to continue to surprise. Som understood the current trends that are sure to remain fresh in the new year (embellished buttoned collars, print on pants) and is modifying in all the right ways. The collars are longer, the pants, a lighter shade, printed, and embellished, and there are even new flowing shapes reminiscent of the [flowering] sixties. Som’s palette was also well versed, including leopard prints in punchy golds and soft seemingly Monet-inspired pastels.
Thanks for a great start Mr. Peter Som!
